My Story

Born in one of the last Baby Boom Years in Rutland VT, 1963, I moved around a bit with my single mother early on. We lived in Upstate NY, Miami, Baltimore then ended up back in Bolton Landing taking care of my grandmother. I graduated from Bolton Central School but was not really sure about college. A short stint at Siena ended with my departure. Adirondack Community College offered a better start and I graduated a couple years later. At that point I knew I what I wanted to do and transferred to Berklee College of Music in Boston for my Bachelor Degree. 4 years later with a degree in Music Production and Engineering, I left Boston for the little town of Woodstock, NY and what I hoped was the beginning of a great career. I met my first husband at the recording studio I was employed at as an Assistant Engineer, then called Dreamland, in West Hurley, NY. My mom fell ill a few months later and in the fall of ’91, he and I both left our jobs to care for her and my younger half-sister and half-brother still at home. Her death in Jan 92 brought more than a few years of turmoil. I tried going back to school to get out of my rut and find a new path and I received my diploma from New School of Contemporary Radio and worked as a DJ, then a few years with WMHT Public Broadcasting. After a divorce and a short stint in Maine, I settled down in Altamont and attended Spencer Business Tech in Schenectady where I recieved a diploma in Electronics and built my own computer. I met Danny, my husband, in '99 (the one leaning on me in the pic). We bought a house in Esperance in 2003 and have been there since. I worked for a telecom/data company for quite awhile until I decided I'd had enough of the Corporate Soul-sucking Monster that was my job and bought the store with my retirement money so I could work for myself! I'm having a blast and loving my new life!

"Deanna was wonderful and was very knowledgeable about various types of wines. Better yet, she took the time to ask what I liked and introduce me to new things I'd never knew about!"
